It was a rough year for the IPO Market. The proceeds raised in 2016 were only 35% of the 5 year average. We also saw the smallest amount of deal flow since the 2009 low.
Blame it on the disastrous performance of 2015 IPOs, negativity into the election or whatever you’d like. These numbers stink.
That said, the performance of the IPOs stabilized and were pretty positive on the year.
Given the sense of optimism in the air and solid 2016 performance metrics, 2017 will likely see an improvement.
